Typically, IFDC initially conducts a screening study of the field(s) at the Identify and Assess stages to identify, recommend and prioritize potential target reservoirs for further study and possible development.

Bounded by constraints specified by the customer, including the availability of drilling and workover rigs, and operating philosophies, IFDC conducts a more comprehensive study to select an optimal development concept within the Concept Select stage. The forecast scenarios may include potential recompletion or sidetrack candidates, infill or extension drilling – including vertical and/or horizontal wells, water injection or tertiary recovery and field facility/operating constraints along with their associated cash flows and economic indicators.

Our field development plans also provide guidelines for field optimizations through the Definition and Implementation stages. Based on a sound Well, Reservoir and Facilities Management (WRFM) strategy, our field development plans help to minimize overdevelopment and maximize rates of return. A major tool to guide field development planning is dynamic reservoir modeling and IFDC is well positioned to help its clients achieve this goal.
